simple item works as expected
Fits properly to terminate the 1/4" Orbit soaker line that I purchased to add to existing lines in our garden.
However after purchasing I did find that you can order these thru Lowes online and just pick them up next time you're in the store.

A great value and installation is very easy
The Orbit 20066 Portable 1/4-Inch Outdoor Mist Cooling System is an incredibly good bargain. It has about 20 feet total of flexible plastic hose. One end has a hose adapter that is compatible with any garden hose, and it comes with metal mister nozzles spaced every two feet in the last ten feet of the hose length. Additionally, it comes with five alligator clips for mounting the Portable Outdoor Mist Cooling System on a chain link fence or thin pipe or rod. Each clip comes with a plastic fastener that can loop around a chain-link fence and snap into place.

Installation is amazingly easy. String the length of mister hose where it will be mounted, snap the clips into place, put the mister hose into the alligator clips, then screw the mister nozzles in place. I bought four Orbit Mist Cooling Systems to cool four of our dugouts on our Fast Pitch Softball fields, and I had all four in place and tested in about an hour. Easily clogged nozzles
Nice item and I like it. The nozzles do a good job of creating a fine mist with the occasional stream instead of mist. The mist is not as fine as I had hoped for, what ever it falls on WILL eventually be wet. Depending on the temperature of your water source, it may or not feel all much cooler while in use. Tip: Use a light colored hose, a dark hose will certainly spew forth hot water.

My reason for dropping one star on the rating is that the nozzles are very very very fine. They WILL clog, guaranteed. And sadly, there is not so much as a mesh filter/washer included.

My solution cost another $5, I bought a mesh cone filter at the Depot/Lowes with the gasket molded into it, and then loosely shoved a cotton ball into the hose opening before attaching to the mister. The mesh cone filter will catch the cotton ball, and together they will provide decent filtration.

I had trouble finding the mesh cone filter, which I thought odd, as every sprinkler...
Good Value
Being called basic, I was suprised to find how well it works. My climate in Northeast Missouri is extremely humid, and figured mist cooling would not work as well as in AZ or other arid area. I was wrong. It turns a warm breeze into a cool one. I hang it on a portable canopy with a cooler full of cold ones and enjoy the afternoon outside at 90 degrees instead of in the AC

Not the quality I remember
I purchased this brand of tubing six years ago from a hardware store. It was flexible, easy to work with and provided me with many years of service. The tubing that arrived a few days ago is so stiff and inflexible that it is very difficult to work with and you have to heat the connections to get a seal on junctions and emitters. Unfortunately it doesn't always seal completely.

It just feels like cheap plastic compared to the old stuff.

Plastic, not rubber
The tubing is plastic, not rubber, so it is stiff and less flexible then the other tubing I have used. It gets the job done, but not as easy to place where you want it.
Love it
I love this product. It helps to water our plants in the wide areas with this long tube!! It's cheaper to buy here than any other places, too.

A quick search on the internet suggests that the flow rate of the ET25512-50 is 1 GPH (gallons per hour). BTW 1/4" is the outside dimension of the hose.

Clogging can be an issue
A fair portion of our half acre has planters, a "design" area of ice plant, a hedge, and a 15 x 40 garden. A previous home up in the foothills had numerous planters as well. Point is we have been using a lot of drip irrigation and the various tube sizes, emitters, sprinklers, etc. We have found that for our type of vegetation, too much water comes out of this particular style. So be sure you are using this for the correct type of water volume need. Also, we are finding that the openings clog and sometimes wear to where there is a find stream (similar to what you would see with a puncture leak) instead of a drip, which in some cases seems to be a wearing of the emitter portion.

The 12-inch spacing will also be an issue if you use this on the wrong type of irrigation. We thought our ice plant spacing would be a good match but there were gaps in water area coverage. Not an issue with the product, more an issue with using it for the wrong irrigation need. We have...

Not much difference
Most all of these drip system end closures have the same problem. If your water pressure is high, the pressure blows off the end closure on your 1/4 inch end closure. I must admit, these seem to be a bit better, and will take a lot more pressure before blowing off. That saves me literally hours of work, finding out where my leak is, and then fixing it with a new closure. So they are a little better.

Hard to control because it is very rigid, does not stay where you want it to stay
I have installed my first drip irrigation system in the spring of 2009 using all components from DIG. This year I decided to expand and build a new branch which required a whole new set up: the second pressure regulator, hose to tube adapter, timer and of course more tubing. Unfortunately, I did not realize there were different types of tubing material which can be stiff rather than soft.

DIG tubing was soft and pliable and stayed exactly where I put it. Rain Bird tubing is stiff and even though I kept in the sun for several hours after unrolling it did not become any easier to work with. It is much harder to control, harder to place where you want it, if you don't put a stake where the tube naturally curls it rips itself out of the stakes. I needed to run it over the bulk head as the spigot was on the other side from where I needed water and instead of laying flat in the channel is ripples and is visible in sections.

not very useful
This tubing is too light and rigid which makes it hard to direct to individual plants without effort and additional bracing. It easily creases which then stops water flow. Better to buy a higher quality, more flexible tubing.
