Gentle, deep watering
I've used Andrews 2-tube sprinkler hoses on my lawn for fifteen years. They provide the perfect kind of gentle, deep watering that I prefer. They help me have a lush green lawn, even though its just ordinary bermuda grass, and even though I only water once every two weeks! I let the hose sprinkle gently for about two hours on each area of my lawn, then shift it to another--it does take a few minutes setting up and adjusting the water pressure to give just the coverage I want, but since I don't have an inground sprinkler system, this works best for me. I store the hose on a cord reel (the kind made for 100 feet of heavy-duty extension cords), so it's a simple matter of reeling it out across the area I want to water, then reeling it up again when I'm done--keeps it neat and free of kinks ... plus, it keeps it out of the "hands" of the raccoons, who used to chew it to pieces before I came up with the idea of using the cord reel. easy-to-use sprinkler hose
This sprinkler hose is extremely easy to use and functions exactly as described. The only possible problem which I see is that the holes go all the way to the faucet connection. This may be problematic since water can seep into your home's foundation. I purchased a 10 ft. extender hose to solve the problem.

I suppose this sprinkler hose would be OK if it is always left in one place, but I had several duties in mind for it.
While the amount of spray was just perfect for the parking strips that I used it for the most, I came to dread setting it up because it is so cheap and flimsy it would very easily get into nightmarish twists. I would end up wasting a great deal of time untwisting it. I found that it is easiest way to get it untwisted was to turn the water on and just get soaking wet, but save time. Upon about the 10th use a rose thorn slashed it and it was kaput.

Good economical solution for small areas
This is a very simple sprinkler. You control it by increase or decrease water pressure by how wide you open the spigot of water to which the hose is attached. How much of the area is covered depends on how strong your water pressure is at its max. The biggest area I can get is about 10 feet square. And, of course, anything less is obtained by just by turning down the water flow.

This sprinkler works well for spot watering. I have two small areas in the front lawn that I need to water, so I move the sprinkler a few times to get the entire area covered.

Since it has no moving parts this is going to outlast all my other rotation and oscillating sprinklers that I use in the back yard. The only down side of this sprinkler that it is very light, so if the hose does not want to lay flat (which is often the case) this sprinkler will not stay flat, it cannot fight what the hose wants to do. Just right for my small rectangular vegetable garden
This is the perfect shape for my smallish, rectangular vegetable garden. No controls or moving parts so this should last just about forever. Just adjust water flow/pressure to make the coverage area larger or smaller.

To those reviewers who said it was too light to stay in place I have a simple solution. Take a wire coat hanger and cut the straight portion to about six inches in length; this can usually be done with a pair of pliers. 1" or 1 1/2" from one end use the pliers to bend the wire to a 90 degree angle making a handle of sorts. Use the "handle" to push the wire through the little hole (opposite of where the hose connects to the sprinkler) and down into the ground thereby stabilizing the sprinkler. When you're finished watering simply pull up on the "handle" removing the wire and you're sprinkler is ready to be used in another location. Hope this helps those who thought it was too light to stay on the ground.

No Complaints
I have used this sprinkler to replace my aging fleet of sprinklers that were originally installed years ago. This sprinkler is very easy to manage as far as directing spray goes and easy to install (not that any sprinkler of this type is difficult to install). There is a noticable difference in my lawn where I have these installed. I will continue to replace my old sprinklers with this one as I go. Great product. Great price.

Rotary sprinkler
Decent sprinkler, kind of cheap feeling but for the price that is to be ecpected. It leaked pretty bad when I first got it so I had to use some teflon tape to help it seal. also the product came extremely dusty. The sprinkle pattern is pretty weak too.

Good design but needs more durable rubber washer in the check valve
Pros

1. Excellent design feature - has a built-in union that allows the valve to split in the middle. The valve can then be easily removed from the pipes for servicing. Each half simply spins off the corresponding inlet or outlet pipe.

2. The solenoids that operate the valve have proven durable.

Cons

1. Unfortunately, the rubber washer that is part of the check valve in the backflow preventer has not proven durable on half of the Toro valves that I'm using. The rubber washer ends up cracking/splitting and then allows significant water to flow past the check valve when the unit is operating. This results in water flooding the area around the valve instead of going to the sprinklers. The rubber washer looks like a common size but when I get what looks like an identical washer at a local plumbing shop and install it (very easy to do, by the way), the leak still occurs. I haven't called Toro for the exact replacement part which I'm sure...

Toro 53763 Sprinkler Valve
I purchased this valve for parts. My sprinkler system is about 7 years old and 1 valve failed. Toro doesn't sell the part I needed, so this was the easy fix. Part was just what I needed and fixed the problem in 5 minutes. I also have other spare parts if another fails. Shipping was quick and free, which made it even better. Over all the valve works as promised. I just wish Toro sold all the internal parts, so I wouldn't have to spend $15 to fix a part that would cost 50 cents.

Turbine Rotor Sprinkler by Gilmour
These are very good sprinklers that work with low water pressure. You can even adjust the spray by throttling the flow at the hose bib. I have not used them long enough to judge their durability, but the materials they are made from compare well to all the others of this type that I have used in the past. Good spray pattern that is adjustable. I would definitely purchase these again.

On Second Thought, DON'T BUY this one
I reviewed this item back at the beginning of the summer. Here's what I said then:
I was trying to replace an old Craftsman Sled Base sprinkler which had finally broken down. The Gilmour is similar in design. The Gilmour is less precise in the spray settings and the red tabs used to set the radius of the spray move roughly and are fairly flimsy. Every time I change the setting, I expect them to crack off (which they haven't.) Also, this sprinkler's sled base is somewhat small with no option to fold out extra side panels for stability.
Therefore, it tends to be less stable, doesn't always sit firmly and occasionally topples over. All this being said, the Gilmour is the best replacement I could find for the old sprinkler. The price was reasonable.
NOW it's September and the sprinkler is just about done. Half the time the head doesn't move back and forth and water is constantly gushing out of the bottom. So it's going into the garbage. Don't buy this sprinkler.
Not as good as the older ones
This sprinkler is not near as good as the one I purchased 3 or 4 years ago.
The spray doesn't adjust as much and it leaks out of the bottom. Won't be buying another one.

The item was not as promised. IT was supposed to spray around and up. I still use
it because it works great with little water pressure. I let it run all night

Easy to install, easy to use
I got this controller to control 5 valves. As I knew nothing about this kind of thing, I was concerned that it had only two programs. I later found out that this means you can have two different schedules (say, in one you water every day at 11pm, and in another on Fridays at 1am), and nine valves, but you can control how many minutes each valve stays open within each schedule. The station then turns each valve sequentially for the predetermined amount of time. Anyway, I know have a wonderful garden that uses very little water (drip system), and that I don't have to worry about when to turn on or not, since it is automatic.

Pros: controls nine valves, two schedules, outdoor/indoor mount

Cons: cost (compared to simpler systems or internal ones)

Bottom line: nice controller.

Good controller
I was looking for an outside controller that would not cost me an arm and a leg and found this one. It is extremely easy to program and works really well. I am using only 4 zones, but have room for expansion. I am using it with an all rainbird system and it operates it fine. I have laid sod and have it coming on 4 times a day.
Easy to Work
This is a user-friendly controller as you can quickly change the programming and do manual overrides. One thing, however - the "rain" function works in multiples of 24 hour days - would prefer a simple "off" switch for those periods when automatic watering isn't needed.

Another impulse sprinkler that doesn't work
I received this and immediately hooked it to the end of the hose. It did not work properly... I have owned several impulse sprinklers and find them to be finicky, like they have to be on perfectly level terrain in order to work properly and not get 'stuck' in one position. This one was true to that,,, got stuck. I moved it to try to best level it. Sometimes would work properly, but then after a couple of successful cycles, it would then get stuck in one spot. I do not recommend this sprinkler. Glad I did not spend a bunch of $ on it.

Super Sprinkler
I had been looking for something to water my trees with and this is it. I got 3 of them and put a Y on 2 of them and hooked garden hoses between and strung them where I needed it and hooked the hose to a timer on the water outlet and off it goes. My trees look great even with the temps being way over 100 everyday. Yes there are more expensive items out there to water with but when something works as well as this items does why bother with something more costly, this works so save your money for something else (like a book, while this waters you enjoy reading LOL) I got 3 of them and feel they are the best for what I needed I hope if you get them you will feel the same Have a great day!

The sensor would stay triggered no more than 10 hours.
I bought this sensor and tried it several times under spring rain. The sensor will be triggered by the rain, but it took a while (about a half hour heavy rain) to start. That causes a lot of waste of water if your system happened to start during this time. I guess this is the shortcoming of this type (disc expansion) of rain sensor. In addition, the sensor supposedly can stay on for a period of 1 or 2 days depends on the evaporation setting on the sensor. I set the evaporation window to fully closed in order to test the longest delay time. After several heavy rains, the sensor can only stay on for no more than 10 hours. That means 10 hours later after a heavy rain, the system can still start to water your lawn. I am disappointed about this sensor. Nevertheless, the sensor looks pretty solid, and sleek.

Rain sensor
The rain sensor is hard-wired. There is also a model which is wireless. The hard-wired unit is wired to interrupt the electrical current going to the irrigation zone solenoids. There is no way to override it, so if it rains enough to trip the switch you have to either go up and re-adjust it, or just do without watering until it dries out. This can be bypassed by the user just installing a simple switch between the wires that go to the rain sensor, essentially bypassing the switch.

The switch does not contain a float mechanism. It works by rain causing expansion of some fibrous washers which in turn presses a micro-switch to interrupt the electrical current to the irrigation valves solenoids.

There are two adjustments on the switch- one for how much rain it takes to trip it and the other for how quickly it will be allowed to dry after it gets wet. There is a calibration on the side for how much rain is needed to trip it.

I recently purchased [4] rain sensors and installed them on my drip-system controllers at my ranch.Amazon has the lowest cost/no shipping $/and fast delivery! The [2] sensors that i installed on 'old' orbit controllers[wired in series with the valves 'common'wires tested fine. however the [2] sensors that i installed on 'new' orbit controllers [which contained sensor switches and connection lugs] would not work until i added a jumper-wire from the valve 'common' lug to the 'right-sensor-lug.then these [2] sensors also tested fine.[i sent an e-mail to orbit related to this problem but never heard back from them].we will have to wait for the Az summer monsoons to arrive[jly-aug-sept] to actually determine that the sensors shut down the drip-systems during rain storms.if the sensors work as stated they will be a major improvement in our drip systems and a large water cost saving also!!

Stable sprinkler base
I purchased this to use with the Rain Bird sprinkler. It does the job well. One thing that I had to learn was the base holds water which has rust in it. When you disconnect this from the hose be sure that you empty the ring base and don't soak yourself with rusty water.

Just What I Needed
This impulse sprinkler base is exactly what I needed for smaller areas, when a tower sprinkler has too much coverage. It's light and easy to place and move. Good quality.
Does a great job
I don't really know what competes with this product. If (like I did) you have a spike type impulse sprinkler that you want to covert to a portable, or for some reason just wish to select your own sprinkler head, then this is what you need. If (like I did) you buy a sprinkler with a good sprinkler head and a cheap plastic base, and you crack the base by over-tightening when you put it together, then this is what you need. Regardless, it creates a very stable base for an impulse sprinkler. Being made of iron it will eventually rust. Everything made of iron will eventually rust.

Spend your money on something else
Pros:
-The seller shipped the product quickly
-The kit is a cheap
-Fairly simple to put together

Cons:
-The 1/4" hose does not connect to the garden hose attachment. I jerry-rigged the connection using the hose attachment and some Plumber's Goop
-Assembly instructions are poor and pictures are not legible (bad photocopies)
-The tee connections had plastic burrs on each end. I removed them for fear that they would break off and clog the line
-The hose connection does not fit the Orbit 91213 One-Dial Garden Hose Digital Water Timerthat Amazon recommends as a bundle. I got it to fit with copious amounts of PTFE tape

So after struggling, I went to the local home improvement big box retailer. It is now apparent that this kit comes with a 1/2" hose connector which doesn't do you any good with the 1/4" tubing provided in the kit. I ended up...

haven't been able to make it work
the manual is really bad and we couldn't avoid leaks. The pictures are bad quality and I still don't know how to connect it to a hose. I can't quite understand the figure13 (not included). So it's waiting for someone more knowledgeable
waste of time & money
This product took a while to install but the amount of water in releases is way too little to be sufficient even with the timer set for 1 1/2 hour. Some holes work better than others but I wish I had gone to the near by hardware store instead. I do not recommend this product.

It works!
What more is there to say? This is a pop-up head sprinkler tool, and it works. It's made well enough that I can't imagine it failing in my lifetime with the 30 or so pop up heads I maintain. I probably won't be able to pass it down to the next generation, but I don't think it's likely that my rain bird pop up heads will still be in service either.

Poor design, handles fall off, sharp edges can cut hands!
I do not share the excitement from the other review. The both green handle covers slide off the tool when it is being used. Astonishing, that someone would put out for sell such a poorly crafted tool. When the handle slide off, either the tool or the handle falls into the greenery. The both handles were punched from a sheet metal and in my case have had such sharp edges that I cut my hand. I filed them off to prevent that from happening again.

A smaller issue is that the adjustment screw cannot be held in place, and it hits the opposite handle under a wrong angle.

Workaround: Use silicon or "grab it" type of gel to attach the handles in a more permanent fashion to the pliers.
The perfect tool for me
This tool is the foundation of the functionality of irrigating my yard. I am able to clamp the tool to the pop-up, keeping it above ground in order to clean the nozzle filter, make adjustments, or replace the nozzle. I cannot imagine being without one of these tools. Mine works perfectly. Thank you, Rain Bird.

You Can Do It
My wife ran over this sprinkler head with the lawn mower and shattered it completely. I first thought to call the repair company as this seemed like a complicated job.But somebody told me it was a simple screw it off screw it on job.You know like changing a light bulb. So I started to look for a replacement part. I tried Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, no luck. Then I saw it on Amazon. The only thing to know about this is there are two ways to install this sprinkler head. The most common way is the screw on screw off way. The other way, my situation, is to plug the bottom port and use an elbow fitting that friction fits to a plastic hose. Either way you can do it yourself! Just dig up the broken one install it,and twist the spray head in the right direction and you are done. This is a very long sprinkler so you have have to dig down pretty deep but I just used a hand trowel and my hands.
