With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Backyard Magic
I always wanted to have a sprinkler system that did not require too much of my time. I priced a system for my yard and it required several thousands of dollars to achieve it, not to mention the complicated setup for times and sections.
I picked up two Orbit 58872N sets and a handful of extra valves last year, one set for the front yard and one for the back yard, four sections/valves each. Today I write a review as a very satisfied customer. The devices work great, timers and settings work perfectly well and accurate. These timers were easy to install and after installing a basic sprinklers system pattern around my yard, it took me about ten minutes to setup each into four individual sections/valves, each section/valve with different watering times.
All-in-all, these devices are worth a fraction of professional installed systems and work just as well. Give it a try before you spend the big bucks...
p.s. ensure they are disconnected during the cold...

Decent functionality, as long as it stays dry
The design is nice as you can expand to more than 1-2 zones. It also provides the ability to attach hose without having to take the whole thing off the faucet.
I've not been able to figure out if it is possible to set different zones so that say Zone A runs everyday, for 10 minutes at 5am, while zone B runs every other day for 8 minutes at 5:30 am. I can get it so they both run either every day, or every other day, but it doesn't seem to be able to separate the daily frequencies.
Unfortunately, I've already been through 2 of these so far, and have now resulted to keeping it surrounded in a ziploc bag. The reason is to keep the water from either rain or the sprinklers themselves from seeping into the poorly sealed battery compartment. This thing was full of water by the end of the season even though there is no water flowing through the electronic compartment. Orbit needs to address this as it makes an otherwise B+ compenent into a C- or a D.
Here are a few 'ideas' or 'suggestions' for you to consider.
The new product is similar to the old model. I have been using the old model for a few years now. Seriously - about 5-6 years all told.
I spent more than most of you might, due to my setup, which I will explain further below.
I also bought multiple valves, more than one timer, new rubber washers, additional hoses, quick connect sets Orbit Brass Hose Quick Connect Set 58117 and some assorted plumbing items. All told - approximately $200+, but still way cheaper than an underground system.
I took a piece of plywood and mounted the controllers to it, mounted the manifolds to it and then pieced together my piping parts (1/2" galvanized) to put together a 'system'. I also connected a device that absorbs the pressure when the vales shut off to avoid the hammer effect.
The system starts at the faucet with the hammer stopper, then runs through a small (2-3') of hose, which...
