Good valve, good product, good price
I had a box with a number of these valves that had failed after many years. These are great because you can just unscrew jar head top from the old value, take the top from the new valve, replace in the old body, and plug in the connector. Instant new valve without having to dig up the whole manifold! I especially like the Snap-Wire connector.

Orbit MALE CONNECTION Valve
After looking at all the hardware stores, and shopping Home Depot and Lowes without success, the Home Depot rep found the right valve on Amazon. I was frustrated after first installing it, as the water turned OFF when the 24 volts was supplied ... and turned ON when there was NO voltage, neutral/common state (A Backwards Condition). I thought I got the wrong valve. I Finally got Orbit Technical service on the phone after three attempts- each a 20 minute wait. THEN the young snot nosed green-eared rep. told me the ONLY way my symptom would happen was, " You have the valve installed backwards... "arrow towards the intake manifold"! No Way!.. I was careful when installing it, well atleast until the o-ring dropped, and I had to put the valve down. Sure enough- I reversed the direction of the valve when I picked it up the second time! NOW IT WORKS GREAT !! (Only wish this symptom was published as a caution in their instructions- could have saved a lot of frustration).
It fits *and* works !
Great replacement valve for those pre-packaged manifolds sold by Home Depot, given that HD does not carry any replacement parts. We have an extensive irrigation system, and these valves fail every 3-4 years, so finding replacements is vital. This one fit exactly, and worked like a charm. FYI for DIYers, dig out a couple of inches deeper below the valve area, so that you can clean the upstream threads out before installing this valve without getting blowback mud into the pipe - that cuts down on leaks.

2 work fine so far, the other 2 have leaks
I replaced a valve bank of Toro valves because I trenched my yard when I put the sewer in and it destroyed my sprinkler system.

I had bought a few of the Orbit sprinkler heads and they worked well so I figured I'd give their system a shot. Assembly was pretty easy, just make sure you wrap the caps for the unused valve inputs 7-8 times in teflon or they leak. I'm not sure if this is a common practice but it did finally do the trick.

Long story short, they seem to work ok, but two of them leak, one around the flow control and another at the actual gasket of the valve body. Needless to say those two are going back to Home Depot, I need to get another valve and 2-port manifold anyway to go from 4 to 5 circuits. The whole system is pretty slick, and can be put together quick, I just wish the valves didn't drip. Good thing it's all modular and you can pull it apart easily.

This is kind of troubling though, wouldn't they test these under pressure before...

Great valves!
I have used these same valves for 15 years now. I have a 12 zone system and I just now had to replace a few. They use to have them at Lowes but not anymore. I will continue to use these as long as I can buy them!

3/4" works, but 1" doesn't
I used the kit to repair leakage of my very old brass Lawnlife anti-siphon valve. 3/4" seal worked fine. 1" seal didn't fit. After some trying, I used Teflon tape with it. It worked.

Excellent for the price
For the price you get good T-pipes. If I had to do it over, I would have gotten the 1-inch ones, because these are a bit small for my betta to get through, but he shouldn't have a problem. They work great for hiding spots for betta's. I am hoping they will do well for my betta fry that I am hatching to hide in.

Brass is better than Plastic!
Bought this valve to replace a plastic valve that split cleanly into two in one section that clearly after further inspection was one piece, but due to the clean cut from the assumption that the valve gave out to water pressure, it was a very straight line cut that i thought it was two pieces. So just based on that I searched for a replacement, and chose this Brass one from Orbit in anticipation that the solidness of brass another burst will not occur.

Overall this product I recommend if you need to replace a broken valve; plastic is inexpensive but does not hold up to quality as brass; which costs more but it is definitely worth the price for the durability.

nice but early versions may leak in time
I bought several of these as water control valves for a water source heat pump. They worked fine for a year or so. They then began to leak to the outside. It was evident that the diaphragms were not being clamped by the housing well, probably due to the rubber material shrinking. I contacted Orbit and they were great. They sent me a pair of replacement diaphragms. The new ones are a little thicker* at the sealing perimeter (looks like the ridges on the perimeter are now designed to bottom out in the seal groves) and are of transparent silicone, as opposed to milky silicone of the original. I noted that the new diaphragms are part number 57473-04 "S/A, diaphragm, jar top". What I see on-line as replacements are milky white and the same number without the "-04". (I think this needs to be cleared up that replacement diaphragms are of the improved design) With the new diaphragms all is well again but I'll know better in a couple of years :-) My guess is they will do fine...

Working great so far!
I ordered these valves for a purpose different than intended. I use them for air control for air cannons in a haunted house. They have worked great so far and I will buy more as I need them. The delivery was quick with no problems.
Do not be fooled by a lower price
I was warned about these valves. The operation is so simple that I could not fathom why they would fail. My initial 8 zone system took 11 valves to cobble 8 valves that would not leak. Three weeks into use, and i decide to check my valve boxes, I am glad I did 2 valves leaking. I have now replaced all 8 valves with Toro and could not be more pleased. Buy good valves, you won't be sorry. The time, and money I have wasted on crappy Orbit valves is time and money I will never get back.

Good reliable valve
We have been using these to replace commercial valves installed originally by our irrigation contractor on a cycle basis as they wear out. These Toro valves (appear identical to me to the Irritrol model) I would consider high quality and none have failed in the 10 years I have been digging out the old valves and using these for replacements. Unfortunately some of them even have to sit frozen underwater in valve boxes with poor drainage all winter. Of course we have the system blown out internally every Fall. We have 14 valves in our installation so always keep several of these handy if the need arises. The jar top feature is terrific as most valve problems (solenoid, diaphram, etc) can be fixed by unscrewing the entire jar top assembly off in seconds and screwing on a new one and connecting the wires (just recycle the new body as usually it is not worth digging everything up and remaking the water connection unless there is a crack in the old body, this assumes you already have this...

Great valve for the price
We shopped the industrial catalogs for similar vavles. All were priced way too high for our little irrigation system. These valves are quiet and seal well. Do not leave them outside in the winter. Even with all the vents and drains open they retain a small bit of water in the solenoid. It freezes and ruins the solenoid. We have built a manifold using 6 valves. We lift the whole assembly off the house and bring it inside in the winter.

Worked great for a nerf gun!
I bought this for use with a nerf gun I was building and it didn't disappoint! Works well its nice and sturdy. I actually ended up buying a 2nd to build my brother a nerf gun as well.

Epic Aircannon
i bought two of these to upgrade my aircannon from a ball-valve to a real trigger. they work very well and are easy to use. i havent had any problems with leakage at 85 psi but have yet to experiment at higher pressures
Strong built, water proof and easy to use.
The valve is quite small sized so it can fit in tighter places. I forgot to measure the pipe size and ordered a 1" instead of 3/4". I had to use bushing to make it fit. This was my first project installing a solenoid and it worked the first time around. I had wondered how the manual control will work, but all it is a lever that by turning, loosens the solenoid enough to trigger the diaphragm to open the valve. I have buried the valve in sand with a temporary cover and will soon place the valve in a box and I hope the valve continues to function. Not bad for a $24.00 (free delivery) product.
