great alternative to built-in irrigation
I tried out this kit and found it easy to install. Everything you need is in the box and instructions aren't essential for someone who is good with stuff around the house.
The coverage is better than you think when setting it up but I don't really see the "covers up to xx feet", I think the pkg says 12 feet, but it is still very good when you get it all working. The first kit was a learning experience to know how far apart the heads can go.
It has worked out so well I bought a second kit and now have them both on a timer. It has helped me keep new plantings watered properly as we are on watering restrictions due to the drought conditions.

Nice sprinkler system but it comes with NO END PLUGS!
We have been using this type of sprinkler system in our flower gardens for many years now and we love them. Recently, we are expanding the flower gardens and I ordered out two more sets of the Simple Soaker Flower Watering Sprinklers. What surprised me and also ticked me off was how they are advertised as coming with an end plug set. Be warned... THEY DO NOT! The brass ferrule and end plug shown in the photo is not in the kit!
So, I ordered out four sets of the end plugs with the brass ferrules (that used to come in the kits) which cost me nearly $20! Not only should they have been included in the kits as advertised... they certainly shouldn't cost $20 for four sets of them!
I did write an email to Nelson to complain about it and I received a nonsensical email back from their foreign customer service (most likely in India).
So, just keep in mind that you will need end plugs if you intend on using the sprinkler set at less than the 50 foot maximum...
simple soaker
I have had several of these simple to use watering systems and when used appropriately, they are great. They last four to five years, and can be gently moved to other locations. They solved my need for an inexpentive, easy to install above ground watering system.
