easy swap for popup head
Took very little time to unscrew existing popup sprinkler, screw in new manifold and run drip lines. Like having ability to target water delivery-- especially near house foundation.

one of these per head is expensive, but....
This, like most Rainbird products I have used, is of very good quality. It is made in Mexico, not China, so there are probably better quality control considerations - American plastics, oversight, engineering, etc. It is easy to install, and so far has been reliable. The only con is that, at close to $20 per sprinkler head, going this route for an entire yard could get very expensive, very fast. ( Of course, if you have an entire zone that you want to convert, it would be much cheaper to install a filter and regulator at the valve and be done.)
What's interesting is that the instructions that come with this kit state that you're not supposed to mix pop-ups and these dripper retrofits on the same valve/zone! You're supposed to either convert or cap the other pop-ups on the same zone.
Of course, I ignored this, to see what would happen. And guess what - retrofit drippers and pop-ups work just fine on the same valve/zone. But this zone was 4 pop-ups and 2...
Great way to convert to a drip irrigation system
Living in S Cal, I am always looking for ways to save on water and money
I recently started converting my traditional type sprinkler system over to drip irrigation. What I like about this product is that it includes a filter system AND a pressure regulator. There are a variety of fittings available so it is easy to start out with this pop up kit and attach a drip line to the threaded adapter at the top
